Following the terrible events Japan, there is now an ongoing crisis with reports of explosions at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant and the Japanese Government issuing warnings that the current radiation levels near the plant are “harmful to human health.”

Government offers householders “premium payments” to take up renewable energy

The world’s first financial incentive of its kind to revolutionise the way heat is generated and used in buildings has been launched by Energy Secretary Chris Huhne.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will support emerging technologies and businesses in the UK, strengthening security of supply by reducing dependence on fossil fuel heating and emissions.

Inflation leads to increase in Feed-in Tariffs from April

The Government has announced that the Clean Energy Cashback Feed-In tariffs will increase by 4.8% from 1 April 2011.
The increase is in line with the 2010 Retail Price Index and covers the entire range of renewable technologies.
