Over half the heat lost from a house goes through the walls (up to 30%) and the roof (up to 25%) so adding insulation makes a significant difference to your energy bills and to CO2 emissions. Because of this the Government has been supporting a program over a number of years to encourage everyone to increase insulation in lofts and install cavity wall insulation where possible.
