Once you have chosen the microgeneration options that are likely to be suitable for your home using our Energy Selector and our pages giving information about each option, the next step is to find somebody to visit your home. You need an expert to survey your home in detail and carry out an assessment of your energy use.
The kinds of things the expert will be looking at could be: Is your roof is strong enough to install a solar panel? Is there access for excavating equipment to install a ground source heat pump? Is the site you’d like to use for a wind turbine going to produce a healthy output? Is the heat output from a micro combined heat and power unit going to be enough for your home?
Any of the suppliers linked to CleanEnergyCashback.com can carry out this assessment for you. Their assessor will be well placed to advise on the suitability of their products. Alternatively, independent assessors are available but will, of course, charge for this service.
Once the assessment is complete, you will probably be given a quote for the work that is to be undertaken. Finance options will probably be offered which will mean you do not need to find the intial investment yourself. You should also be given a fair estimate of likely energy bill savings and any Clean Energy Cashback incentives.
At CleanEnergyCashback.com we always advise getting an assessment from a qualified energy assessor and, once you have chosen a solution, ensuring that the product and its installation are fully covered under the Government backed quality assurance scheme: the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.
Most assessors and installers will tell you if they are correctly accredited, but to save you time, why not refer to one of the suppliers advertised on our site. We only link to accredited installers of microgeneration equipment, and to qualified energy assessors.
